Identity In Christ

Let God define the core of who you are, because you are not the sum of your cravings, your history, other people’s opinions, or the lowest moment you still replay in your head. Identity in Christ gives you a new place to fight from.
Identity in Christ changes the starting point
Identity in Christ is not a slogan added on top of an unchanged life. It changes the starting point from which obedience happens. Instead of trying to earn belonging by performing well enough, the believer learns to obey from a place of belonging already given through Christ. That does not lower the call to holiness. It removes the exhausting attempt to use holiness as a way to purchase love.
This matters most when old identities are loud. Past sin says condemned. Performance says valuable only when useful. Comparison says behind. Christ gives a different center: forgiven, adopted, being renewed, and called to walk in a new way. The work is not merely memorizing those words. It is noticing where daily choices still assume the old identity is true and deliberately practicing agreement with the new one.
